Learning Goals and Teaching Approach

Learning Goals (EYFS and NAEYC):

The learning goals at Kidz Village International Kindergarten are rooted in a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with both the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) of The British Curriculum and the latest internationally recognized research on children’s development and learning. This dual approach ensures that our educational framework is not only aligned with established standards but also remains responsive to cutting-edge insights. By integrating EYFS standards, we provide a robust foundation that encompasses every aspect of a child’s growth, including cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains.

Furthermore, the incorporation of current and internationally endorsed research from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) enriches our assessment practices. This research-backed assessment instrument empowers our teachers to make informed evaluations of each child’s progress. It enables educators to create personalized learning paths that cater to individual needs, strengths, and interests. This tailored approach not only promotes academic growth but also nurtures each child’s unique potential.

At Kidz Village, we understand that children’s learning experiences extend beyond the confines of the classroom. Our learning goals encompass a holistic view of education that encompasses collaborative engagement with families and the community.

By fostering strong partnerships with parents and caregivers, we create a unified support system that nurtures children’s development both at school and at home. Through such collaboration, we ensure consistency and reinforce the values and skills that extend beyond academic achievement, such as empathy, communication, and resilience.

In summary, our learning goals at Kidz Village International Kindergarten are a harmonious blend of EYFS standards and progressive research insights, underscored by the endorsement of internationally recognized institutions. By leveraging this synergy, we not only provide a comprehensive and adaptable educational experience but also instill a lifelong love for learning in our young students.

Project Approach:

The driving vehicle for our teaching practice at Kidz Village is The Project Approach as developed by Dr.Chard & her colleague Dr.Katz. The Project Approach refers to a set of teaching strategies that enable teachers to guide students through in–depth studies of real world topics. Projects have a complex but flexible framework within which teaching and learning are seen as interactive processes. Through implementing the project approach students feel highly motivated and actively involved in their own learning. Students are encouraged to question, investigate, work independently and collaborate which leads them to produce high quality work and develop critical thinking skills.
